Of Loss and Love Series 1
Goal: To depict, through symbolism and imagery alone, the emotions that lurk in cemeteries.
Location: Cemetery on 2nd Ave, Clarion PA, USA.
Date: April 2010

When surrounded by the overwhelming feeling of loss and death usually present in a cemetery, one can feel like they are in a dark place. However, combating this darkness is not only the persistent love of friends and family, but also their beliefs that the lost souls are being sent to a better place.

Lens: AF-S Nikkor 18 – 55 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/400th
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 32 mm
ISO Equivalent: 200

Post-Processing Technique
Cloned out powerlines, performed selective contrast, saturation, and exposure adjustments until the correct balance between light and dark was found. Adjustments have not been that extreme.
