Someone cares

This morning I was photographing some kiddies when an elderly woman came up to me. In the wheelchair she was pushing sat a physically disabled young boy of about 7 or 8 years old. “He’s my grandson”’ she said proudly. Squint-eyed, with a lopsided grin he looked up at her, putting out his arms as she leaned down to lift him out of his wheelchair and gently placing him on Father Christmas’s lap for me to photograph.
It’s at times like these that I realize just how fortunate I am….. I have good health, my children have no disabilities…………………….
I then heard the story of this amazing old woman. She found this little boy abandoned by the roadside a few years ago and took him home. She is poor, but that little boy was beautifully dressed and more importantly, loved by her……..

Maybe you can think of something more important than caring……… I can’t.
