Untroubled Heart

Have you ever heard
The majestic tune of nature
Humming in harmony
To your senses
And sung along?

Have you ever
Run through the grass
On a beautiful Spring morning
And felt the dew
Softly caress your toes,
Inhaling the miraculous scent
Of creation?

Then to stop,
Listen to the birds singing
Notes falling,
Then rising,
Soaring into the pale clouds
Artist gone wild
With grey paint
And a gold brush

Sunlight shattering the sky
Into a thousand sweet silvered lines
Each to be savoured
By the questing eye

Only to be beaten
By the wind,
Rippling through the trees
The breeze
Whispering gently against your face

Carefree

Untroubled Heart

Artist's Description

The first poem I ever wrote…about 5 years ago now. I wanted to capture the longing I had for Zimbabwe and the image in my head of what it was like. It also captures being carefree and joyful, the opposite of what I was feeling at the time – because I knew I was loved.
