My pale cheek is warmed by the rising Sun, while my burnt face is cooled by the full Moon in turn. These heavenly bodies gravitate around me in endless spirals that can induce peaceful dreams, or create tectonic violence. Today the lunar cycle creates a tide that caresses a narrow crevasse on one of my young and nubile islands. At first the lapping of small waves arrive upon the small beach hidden within a recessed cove. The rain melt normally flows down to the sea and mingles with the saltwater at this brackish union between water and earth. Today however, the tide is rising, and the swells are increasing in size, until giant waves are crashing directly upon my rocky shores. Soon this is followed by hurricane winds that will flood my tropical valley with churning water from the ocean depths. The mighty torrent is tearing at my earthly skin with unsustainable violence. Boulders and trees rip away at everything that cannot flow with nature’s onslaught.

This arouses me greatly.

Soon I feel a temblor within my deeply buried stone and let loose with a shattering uplift. The earth opens up and swallows the sea, while at the same time, multiple peaks arise, lifted by rapidly thrusting faults that quake the entire archipelago. Existing volcanoes erupt, jagged fissures reveal themselves as explosive steam vents, releasing heat that took a millennia to build up. Tsunami after tsunami, are born and travel the globes surface until they can be displaced on unhappy shores. Within these islands, nowhere is safe as the elements embrace in a dance of vehement renewal. My only desire is to increase the release of pressure until I am spent, so that I can attain again, a peacefully dormant state.

I collapse in exhaustion as the tremors subside. The power that generated this episode is gone. I settle down and dissipate the clouds. Soon I am asleep and lucidly dreaming. I feel secure in my position within the worlds all around me, and excited that in time, my time will come.
