Steel

My apathy bends
And refuses to break
How ironic that my indifference
Cuts like a damn knife
But today these eyes are steel
Casting an unwary gaze
Upon the travellers I meet
Silent judgement is passed
In this diseased brain of mine
I invent realities
That contradict the truth
It is a sick man indeed
That would want to play God
But while I am not equipped to judge
I find it is in my nature
I look at others
To hide myself
In their faults I find shelter
From the storm that rages
Beneath my skin
