Artist's Description

Built in 1823, this Federal style building was the first courthouse built in Meigs County, Ohio, and served until 1841 when the county seat was moved to Pomeroy. It is one of three Federal-style courthouses still surviving in Ohio.

Taken 5/24/2011 in Chester, Ohio.
