Artist's Description

Ryegate, the county seat of Golden Valley County, was a bustling farm community on the Musselshell River, US Highway 12, and the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad—the Milwaukee Line. The railroad closed its western operations in 1980, and highway traffic on US12 is largely local as Interstate Highway 90 runs parallel, albeit fifty miles to the south.

To the best of my knowledge, this elevator is now owned by TerraLogic which acts as a farm supply center.

Taken 4/22/2011 in Ryegate, Montana

Nikon D80 DSLR, Nikkor 16-85 mm wide angle/tele/zoom lens set at 85mm.

ISO 200, f /16.0, 1/350 second, finished in Photoshop CS4.
