Artist's Description

Reed Point, which sits on the Stillwater/Sweet Grass County line, is a small farming and ranching town in south central Montana. One day a year, during the Labor Day weekend, thousands of people flock to Reed Point for the annual Sheep Drive, a fund-raiser that features hundreds of sheep being driven through the center of town, between this elevator and the Occident Elevator across the street.

Once served by the Northern Pacific Railroad, the two elevators were filled with grain going to market. Today there’s no reason for Montana Rail Link to do more than slow down while going through town.
