Artist's Description

I have no idea when the Kempton Hotel was built, maybe RB’er Kay Kempton Raade can fill us in on the details, but when I saw the sign on this building in Terry, Montana, I knew I had to stay there for the night. My room was clean and spacious, with a large bed and a shower, do we really need anything more? There was a tv with cable access and a coffee maker in the room. There was also wireless internet access. All the comforts of home, almost. But when I went to plug in my laptop, there were no three-prong outlets. Then I noticed the coffee maker wasn’t plugged in. It, too, had a three prong plug. The owners of the building bought it twenty years ago. They’re eastern Montanans who now live in Fairbanks, Alaska. I pointed out the wiring problem to the owner. Maybe the next time I’m in Terry, I’ll be able to plug in my laptop.

BTW, if you’re stopping in Terry during hunting season, know that the hotel is usually sold out.

Taken March 26, 2010 in Terry, Montana.

Nikon D80 DSLR, Nikkor 16-85 mm wide angle/tele/zoom lens set at 25 mm.

ISO 125, f /9.5, 1/45 second.
