Scanned from a photo taken with a Pentax SLR, I have always liked the juxtaposition of bare-chested Poseidon with the equally bare-chested young man reading so intently on the Malecon at Puerto Vallarta.

Gee, when I first submitted this to The Photographer’s Workshop, people thought the human was background noise and should be edited out. I thought otherwise—why else would I have taken the photo this way? Thanks for agreeing with me.
