“Take every birthday with a grain of salt. This works much better if the salt accompanies a Margarita!” ~ MAXINE, on Aging

From 2001, give or take….: the Good Times Bar and Grill, a cantina we owned in Baja, Mexico. I’m the 4th from the left. The woman in the glasses at the far right is my good friend and former business partner. We (and our husbands) owned the place together. I am now back in Illinois, and she is back in Canada. To my knowledge only two are living down in Baja now. That’s in addition to Alonso behind us – one of our bartenders.

I have no idea what’s become of the blonde sitting next to me.. Rosa, there beside me — oh, Rosa, Rosa! Where are you now? Who knows? She took off with a caballero young enough to be her grandson and we never heard from her again.

Those were the days my friend!
We thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day.
We’d live the life we chose
We’d fight and never lose!
For we were young and sure to have our way.

Or — young at heart, maybe not in years! Funny, how a door shuts quietly behind you and a chapter ends – and at the time you barely hear the click.

This was done from a color print aged, texturized and colorized in Photoshop.
