Artist's Description

Just saw some great pictures of the Darling River, near Bourke, on Redbubble.
I was there, in 1967 and 1968. Coached (not very successfully) the kids, in Saturday mornings. Pupils and I painted a back-drop for the stage of the local club (RSL?). Played the piano-accordion, on the back of a truck, in a parade, going to the rodeo. Took part in the walk-a-thon……Watched Doctor Zhivago, go through the snow, on the screen of the open-air cinema, on a VERY hot summer night.

(As I saw the Darling River, in 1968.)
Memories! Memories.
Played the hero, in the melo-drama. I could go on.
Thanks, Ross for bringing those memories back.

Darn! Didn’t get a mention for being Bessie’s hero, in the melo-drama.
The fun thing was that the colleague who was a very good friend, played the dastardly villain. (We are still in contact.)
