Artist's Description

An annual event held six times, on Obelisk Beach, Middle Harbour, in Sydney was: Dare to Be Bare. Held to raise money for the Fred Hollows Foundation.
For a small number of participants it was not really so daring.
You could tell by the absence of tan-lines.
Sponsors had been found and paid up, if these people dared to be bare, on this legal nude beach.
I believe that there was a core of people who worked together, including the organiser.
I guess it helped the ‘office’ spirit, possibly more than an annual Christmas party and the good thing was that people elsewhere benefited from the money raised to have their eyes treated.
