monday at the park

Well, Mr Fix It is having a great holiday, which may be unfortunate to say! I got no ‘go away’s for greeting. He was enjoying a little TV. Mesmerizing tv. I brought my camera today, fresh off a weekend photoshoot, and snap happy. So I got some great pics of him bouncing on the bed, and holding his puppy. Baba has managed to wash and iron just about everything that exists-it all seems fresh, folded and a hive of activity here, actually.

There are loads of toys in action, piles of folded washing and MrF is full of life. When it came time for breakfast and tv off, there were tears, and “I want my Baba”, which subsided quickly. He had ‘bubbles’ for brekky, not his first choice of custard that was in view, which also caused tears, but other than that, all good. Got a whole bottle of water into ‘im, and half at bed. Well watered, and health check: all good.

We got dressed and drove Inna to the dentist, then took off to the park. It is gorgeous weather here now. Sunny, warm, and a fresh breeze. Loads of mums, a few dads, and KIDS at the park. MrF set off for the swings, tackled the ladder, slippery dip –himself, and loved the (safe version of) seesaw. In awe of an older kid playing soccer, we got closer to have a better view.

On the way to see if there was his own ball in the car, he discovered a massive, solid pile of woodchips. That was great fun for us to climb. Up one way, down another. He found a sawn off branch, MrF size, to throw, and I showed him how to roll it down the ‘hill’. Great boy-becoming-man thing to do. The ball quest forgotten. (the old buy a big toy, and they have fun in the box scenario)

Then he was getting tired. By 11.30 we were home for lunch: pasta. We played some more with things (walkie talkie, measuring stick, maths blocks), played tickles and convinced small fry it was bath time. He then announces its bedtime, and we read a story for bed. Mr Messy is the current favourite.

We’d had so much fun playing, bed was a little later than usual, but still, he is asleep now, soundly at 1 o’clock.
