Artist's Description

I took this picture of a Brown Snake Eagle in Namiba, Africa. She is an educational animal who’s wing was amputated after she was caught in telephone wires at one of the many mines there. Her name is Cleopatra and when ever we would spot a dead snake I would take it to her and wiggle it around until she would pounce on it and gulp it down. Amazingly she would leave certain parts of the heads of some of the poisonous ones, like the Black Mamba. She is a marvolous creature and helped to educate many of the local farmers and children as to why these birds are so important to protect… they are the natural predator to one of the creatures they fear most… snakes! : )
