homage to a great dancer: hijikata tatsumi
founder of butôh dance which had great influence on western performing arts of the 80ies and 90ties.
a truly great man who left way too early.
the butôh movement dealt with the traumatic experience of nagasaki and hiroshima in a way that was seen unfit by the majority of the japanese society. it showed the weak and hurt and many traditional japanese felt embarassed by it.
