Artist's Description

These fungi are called “Turkey Tail” because of their resemblance to same. Their term versicolor also describes the multiple sections of varying colors. These are not like gilled mushrooms, but rather a hard, even tough fungus with a porous under-surface, and it grows on dead or dying trees and branches. They can be quite variable in color and beautiful.
