The sun was coming up and we were beginning to see the shapes of boats at their moorings. Every few minutes an engine would start with that putt putt purrrr and a seagull would sleepily call out to others standing on the pilings. Cormorants swam by, diving and popping back up in some unexpected place. Soon it would be our time to leave the harbor and head out; for now, we could sit and watch the sun.
