Artist's Description

We used to spend a fortune on Niger seed trying to coax the Goldfinches into the feeding area, but this year we decided to have black oil sunflower seed, safflower, and corn. The Goldfinches love the black oil sunflower seeds and don’t miss the Niger seed at all! The males are beginning to change over to spring breeding colors. This picture was taken January 23, 2014, in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA. I used my Tamron 150-600mm lens.
