Artist's Description

“What makes a river so restful to people is that it doesn’t have any doubt – it is sure to get where it is going, and it doesn’t want to go anywhere else. “

Hal Boyle

A view across the confluence of the estuarine sections of the River Teign as it meanders around tidal sandbank island known as ‘The Salty’. Photographed from Teignmouth Back Beach, looking through the mists – upriver towards Shaldon.

The main town beach wraps around the spit at the head of the River Teign providing a river beach on the estuary side which overlooks the harbour with its moorings for many pleasure craft & fishing boats and has views up the estuary to Dartmoor on a day with good visibility.
