The Real Me

Go to the mirror and who do your see?
Do you see me? Or the me you wanna be?
Twisted distortion gets smeared in your eyes,
And it’s too easy to listen to poisonous lies.
The echoing sound of childhood cries,
The evil is larger then three times their size.
But they don’t realize the things that they do,
Cause it bounces off me and sticks to you…
So you grow old, and grow cold to the things that they say,
And try to be different by the end of the day,
And try to function in a more “normal” way.
But that is not you, not the you that is true,
And if your not you then please tell me who?
Close your eyes and take a good look inside,
Take a deep breath and swallow your pride.
There is no reason for the real you to hide.
So make a promise when you have some time that is free,
Go look in the mirror and see the real me!!!
