Anti-War Poem - Why?

The machine rolls undefied across borders
Whilst civilians grieve for their dead.
Soldiers march to their orders
As children fight for their bread.

Governments spend millions on munitions
Whilst families build houses from mud.
M.P’s ignore petitions
As orphans love, if they could.

Armies plant mines across fields
While children dream of an education.
Peacekeepers use guns in the form of shields
A infants have no time for recreation.

Soldiers march to the drum
and away from the sun
Parents watch their children die
And never stop asking WHY?
