Strange Background Behind this Art Work:
A few months ago, a dear friend on RB, a very talented artist Chris Perry,
sent me an image of his beautiful painting. This is what Chris said. “This is a product of my recurring dreams of a really full moon with a woman on the rocks silhouetted against it. Each time I made it to get to know her I would wake up.” He said this woman reminded him so much of me. My name is Moonlover, of course. :)) And I did not even know Chris before then, which was really strange. When I saw the painting, I felt something strange,as if I’ve known that scene & me being in it all my life, like Deja Vu. Like I know what the woman was thinking & feeling that time. And people have commented she did look somehow like me from the back, hair, body & all. And so we thought about collaborating – a painting session, a photo session…but Chris is in the US & am Down Under, so we said when the time comes, we will, one day :)). ‘Til then, this is the best that we can do. Took me awhile to get this up & compose something that gives his beautiful art justice. We hope you enjoy Chris’s lovely painting and my poetry. And by the way, the original painting has been sold since. So Chris needs to dream some more:))
Moon’s Song of Sorrow, Song of Love (a collab with Chris Perry)
Moonbeam streaming down my face,
providing warmth to my silent shiver.
Touching my hair like your hand used to,
a gentle, reassuring stroke.
I glow as I feel its caress, washing away sorrow.
It is full moon tonight, I’m drifting…..
I love you like the full moon loves the Deep.
She descends from the heavens, merges with the sea, plays, gets broken, and freely lends her light.
Like the moon, I long to give you warmth, kiss your lips, and let you rest inside my being where it’s safe.
Like the moon, I love you without end.
Tonight my beloved, I remember you so dearly,
every moment, once in a lifetime.
Hear my song as if it’s our first night to know each other,
I’m humming a tune from days of old when you and I were one.
Listen to our laughter through the winds,
such pure moments that we’ve shared,
You are so far away now…..
But when you see the moon remember me…
Let it guide you to light your path, even when you’re away from me.
Touch the stars on the way to your new dreams, without me.
One last time let us dance until it’s daybreak
Take me to the moon and back,
and I will show you the place where we found our love and where we broke each other’s heart.
Rest in our solitude, where we enjoyed shared silence and belonging,
Meditate on our peace, our calm,
Let’s kiss, let’s celebrate love while we can,
By sunrise, like the moon, I will be gone.
