Artist's Description

A myth of the Navajo Indians of Arizona gives a graphic account of the primitive fantasies that cluster around the stone.
Estsan Atlehi (mother of all) is a most important figure in the matriarchal pantheon of the Navajo. The turquoise Goddess is an anima figure who at the same time symbolises the self. She also exemplifies the pyschology of the matriarchal woman who, as an anima figure, attracts the mother complexes of all men in her vicinity and robs them of there independance.
C.G. Jung Collected works Vol .13.
