I’ve been wanting to do a shoot with a pre-Raphaelite theme for a while so went looking for a model with that look and found Sarah. Long blazing red hair, alabaster skin and Kirsten Dunst eyes – couldn’t believe my luck.
But when I came to shoot her the whole high-key obsession thing kicked in and I ended up shooting about 12Gb worth of portrait shots – first time I’ve filled my camera’s memory card. I’ve just rarely had such an extraordinarily photogenic model.
She also has almost perfect complexion. Unfortunately with the high key you can’t really see just how good it is but I just had to go for the contrast between her hair and skin/background.
We still managed to get some pre-Raphaelite waterblur shots which I’ll post in a while but it was the portrait shots that I particularly enjoyed.
Sarah’s only just started modelling so this was one of her first shoots as well as first nude shoot.
All natural light filtered through a lace curtain behind her. Silver reflector on one side and large disconnected soft box on the other.
