October 9, 1967...Che

“My dreams shall know no bounds, at least until bullets decide otherwise. I’ll be expecting you, sedentary gypsy, when the smell of gunpowder subsides. A hug for all of you, Che.” A message to a friend read by a friend of friend who spoke to the friend who spoke with Doctor Ernesto “Che” Guevara. June 14, 1928-October 9,1967

a man who was a friend of a friend
who was a friend of a friend of a man
who spoke with Ernesto “Che” Guevara
“all revolutions come to an end
blood and flesh dies like ideologies
dead until the next…revolution”
red is its color black is its color
nothing is as powerful as those
who lie in the name of money
nothing is as powerful as those
who kill in the name of peace
how cruel are men to women
how cruel are women to men
oppression poverty inequality
death will come as bullets
for revolutionaries on the run
death will come as boredom
for revolutionaries old and frail
if life were fair and equal
Che would have been kindly old
Doctor Ernesto “Che” Guevara
nothing is as powerful as those
who lie in the name of business
nothing is as powerful as those
who kill in the name of war
death will come as bullets
for revolutionaries on the run
death will come as boredom
for revolutionaries old and gray
if life were fair and equal
man would not need guns
if life were fair and equal
Che would have been kindly old
Doctor Ernesto “Che” Guevara
“all revolutions come to an end
blood and flesh dies like ideologies
dead until the next…revolution”
a man who was a friend of a friend
who was a friend of a friend of a man
who spoke with Ernesto “Che” Guevara

Description:
What makes men and women become revolutionaries to challenge the powers that be, not just with words but blood guts and bullets and death. Doctor Ernesto “Che” Guevara was more than an icon on a tee-shirt and other paraphernalia, or a romantic revolutionary persona to identify with, and then go back to the daily grind of grinding out the déjà vu of the déjà vu of reality. Read the Motorcycle Diaries and you will see and read how a young man with a future in medicine, starts and begins and then becomes without a doubt the most famous revolutionary of modern time. Say his name, “Che” and he still is a polarizing figure, some are dismissive ridiculing him as a failed revolutionary others speak glowingly about, “Che” and gloss over his Marxists ideology, over time information and facts just gets lost and buried, the victors always rewrite history until the next revolution. If all things were equal and fair “Che” might have become kindly old Doctor Ernesto “Che” Guevara, perhaps. I think he would have been a revolutionary doctor of medicine, we will never know, the world is unfair to revolutionary ideas unless there is a profit in it to exploit, and then there are no guarantees.
