it’s a no man’s land quicksand

one eye blind shut
one eye blind open
in the time of my father
mouths shouted empty words
mumble mumbled the mumblings
grandfather sang this jingle
for God and country as one
his father all consumed in
jingoism of might makes right
fathers hymn country right or wrong
the stillbirth faux liberty
in the time of my father
one blind eye open
one blind eye shut
lesser men just beast of burden
lesser women wet holes to fill
the good guys are the bad guys
and
the bad guys are the bad guys
it’s a no man’s land quicksand
on the horizon zero-sum
in the last century
in the last millennium
empty words of patriotism
patriots are the same today
one blind eye shut
one blind eye open
quicksand it’s a no man’s land
corporation nation state’s patriotism
the bad guys are the bad guys
and
the good guys are the bad guys

bought and sold human commodities
clones of clones insatiable viral greed
everything they touch dies instantly
on the horizon zero-sum meltdown
one blind eye open
one blind eye shut

Description:
You see, you hear it and you feel it, the ominous presence of the Corporation Nation States, they are everywhere and in control. They sell they buy they trade, and they consume everything in their path to achieve their goals. A major car manufacturer lied about clean diesel emissions by creating software to cheat; everyone at the top denied any wrong doing. Oil companies’ drill and frack for fossil fuels, without any regard for the damage left behind. Banking institutions are nothing more than ivy league gangsters and the traders on Wall Street are gamblers, with inside information, it’s fixed. Governments do as they are told by Corporations and the corporations buy and sell the politicians, who are so greedy and eager to sell their souls, to serve the Corporations and Mammon.

“Patriotism is the last refuge for scoundrels.” Samuel Johnson. The bad guys are the bad guys and the good guys are the bad guys, all patriots of The Corporation Nation States, regurgitating the corporate speak, like characters from Orwell’s 1984. People don’t change; technology does and has made the Corporation Nation States a reality, they will rule the planet like nothing has ever existed before. People are tagged digitally by every transaction, from purchasing food to clothing to cellphone calls to CCTV. Patriots like before, will be loud and proud of their Corporation Nation State and of course selling war and death as a byproduct commodity, to boost corporate sales, nothing really changes except the technology.

From the journal of “Observations from the Six Sided Box” by Paco Diego Rodrigo non Sequitur, notes written in ink, to watch out for the trap door while passing through the current reality, no rewrites, life sucks. You must read carefully between the lines, however do not read the messages from Doctor Fortune Cookies’ epigrams written in invisible ink, happy talk, the lotto numbers are all winners, play them, you will be a winner too. And yes Karma is without a doubt a bitch, with two jaws of rusted nails ready to chew you up and then spit what’s left of you out, the bits and pieces old and chewed each bite a tattoo of being screwed.
