Another Home Page - Oporto. Thank you Ace Cafe!

Huge thanks to the Hosts of Ace Cafe! It was great to get another RedBubble Home Page feature today (my 14th since I joined RB! Yay!!!), as a result of the recent challenge.

If you have not visited the Ace Cafe group, I would recommend it! It’s an altogether different RB experience. All the action is in the Forums and work does not make it to the group’s page, until at least 10 group members have voted it to be an “ACE”. Plenty of great work, plenty of constructive support and plenty of community spirit. A warning: It can get addictive! :-)

Join me at the Juried Invitational Exhibition…

I am very excited to have my art selected for the special Earth Day celebration theme to exhibit in SoJie 10. SoJie 10 takes its name from the Solo Exhibition group’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 10th one, ever, and 100 other artists, besides myself, are represented.

Winners of the invitational will be announced on April 27th, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.

Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. The work

Vote for better RB marketing!

Dear RB Friends……

First of all: Happy New Year! :-)

I have created a new feature request on RB:

As you know, at the moment you can set RB to automatically publish a notification to FaceBook, when you upload new picture on RB.

I have discovered a much better mechanism for promoting your work: If you sign up to posterous.com you can configure it to automatically re-broadcast whatever your post there, to a large number of other sites, including FaceBook, Twitter, flickr, WordPress, Blogger, etc. If instead of automatic notifications to FB, we could set RB to create automatic notifications to Posterous.com, you can then set that up to auto-publish to however many other sites you want. It will give much better controls for pushing out new work.

If you think it’s interesting, please use this lin

What art is in which group? - NEW UTILITY

The one thing that most people have asked me for, ever since I started writing RB utilities back in early 2009, is a utility to see what art has been submitted to which group.

I am pleased to say that I have given in to the nagging and finally found the time to write it! There have been rumours for a while now that RB were redesigning their group management interface to provide this, but it seems that it keeps slipping down their priorities list, so I got fed up waiting and finally wrote this utility:…

RB Utility – Art By Group
What art has been submitted to which group

You don’t need to install anything, just click on the link to run it. It takes a while to run (because RB does not have an SDK or API, for those that understand what this means…), but it will give you a list of all your group

UK History Photo Finder

The National Archives in the UK, have published a new Photo Finder tool which allows you to search and view digitised historical photographs of the UK and Ireland. Starting with the Dixon-Scott collection, which holds more than 14,000 photographs taken in the 1920s-1940s, they will be adding new photographic resources in time. You can search by location and view images for free.

Gone AWOL for a bit

Hello my RB friends
Just to let you know that I’ll be on holiday for the next two weeks, with rather misserable connectivity… So if you don’t hear from me don’t worry, I’m still around but “light touch” :-)

French RB HomePage!!!

Thank you RB! It’s been a long time since I had a picture featured on the Home Page (this is my 11th one!), and what a thrill it is!!! Many many thanks to whoever chose my Blaceret for the B+W French collection :-)

New monitor - Woohoo!

Thanks for all the tips & hints in my previous desperate cry for help. I am now back from holiday and a proud owner of a new monitor, so I thought I’d give you a bit of an update……

In the end I opted for another ViewSonic, 23" this time. It’s the VP2365wb, which has an IPS panel and the colours are SUPERB! It’s not ideal for games and so on, apparently (I’m not a gamer), because of its speed, but it’s perfect for colour accuracy which is what I needed for photo editing. And at £260 it was expensive, but not ridiculous for amateur use.

As all three monitors were sitting on my desk, I have tried to take a picture on each, but it’s difficult to get a consistent result photographing LCDs. The following shots are not accurate but will give you at least a flavour of the differences…
