Artist's Description

This country and antique store next to the railroad tracks in historic Delaplane, Virginia, once was a train depot. This section of town, formerly named Piedmont Station, is a designated National Historic District that includes 24 buildings. The railroad was used most famously in 1861 when Gen. Stonewall Jackson marched his troops from Winchester to the train depot (then known as Piedmont Station, where they loaded into cars headed for the First Battle of Manassas.
