a bit about the artist

As a native New Orleanian, art infiltrated my childhood and my senses. Architectural studies led me to a BFA in ceramic sculpture, emphasising drawing and installations. Ten years forward, and I found myself repeating the calling as an MFA. Through the years, my training has encompassed Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Meditation Practices, Embodyoga, and other healing modalities. Eventually the art and the contemplative merged within my work and pedagogy. Teaching opportunities with groups and individuals — art and interdisciplinary courses at Washington University; an art residency and guest lectureship at the National Institute of Design in Gujarat, India; cancer centers; women’s groups; and community arts organizations — reflect a rich exploration of artistic insights while midwif…
