The longing

Memories of yesterday are alive and well today,

The way you smiled, the way you looked, the things you used to say.

I look to the photo’s we took to remember those times,

They’re now just images left behind, fingerprints of our crimes.

I miss your tender touch, your heart of solid gold,

The children need you more now to sculpt and hold and mold.

I’ll never feel your touch again, or hear your silly jokes,

You died before I said good-bye, Could it be a hoax?

God wanted you to be at peace, you’re purpose here was through,

But baby, You should know, I still long for you…
