Tantalising Tasmania Series by Lexa Harpell.

Thick strands of bull kelp washed up on the rocks – as they dry, they change in various colours to black.

Cockle Creek has the southernmost road in Australia. Sitting on Recherche Bay, in the South West national Park, south east tip of Tasmania.
Tasmania’s World Heritage Wilderness Area.
Recherche Bay is a safe haven for yachts sailing in the Indian Ocean.
A two hour walk south from Cockle Creek is South East Cape where you can look across the ocean – next stop Antarctica!
For hikers, there is and 85km trek from Cockle Creek to remote Melaleuca – the only access to Melaleuca is via plane or boat.
