Artist's Description

Tantalising Tasmania Series by Lexa Harpell.

Early morning shadows over the beach at Bay of Fires.

Bay of Fires in Tasmania is named for the brilliant orange lichen growing on the rocks over the long beach.
Early white discovers thought the bay was on fire. Named for the number of large rocks covered in bright orange lichens.
This lichen grows in many places in Tasmania, although Bay of Fires has the most condensed and largest amount in one place.
Set the bright orange against the azure blue water and fine white sand – you have the perfect holiday destination!
