Artist's Description

This is the 1954 MG TF, the car nobody got excited about. Not the press, not the customers, not even the managers at MG themselves. At least on this side of the pond. The TF was widely regarded in the US as a TD with a nicer shirt on. And with Triumph’s genuinely new TR2 available for the same money, it’s little wonder the TF clanged on the American market. For all that, the British seemed – outwardly – fond of the new offering. It wasn’t enough to save the T-Type however, and after a production run of fewer than 10,000 units the TF gave way to the MGA.
