9-11-13 @9:00am

i often mention to friends and family how sad it is that the only American flag that can be seen from my front porch is the one hanging from my front porch, and you can see a lot of residences from my front porch. it’s a heck of a lot sadder today because my flag hangs at half-staff, and i stare and wonder how many of the thousands of people that can see it from the highway across the field from me, or in any of those residences, will even notice; and if they do, will they know why, or care.
I WILL NEVER FORGET!

OLD GLORY HANGS HER LOVELY HEAD LOW
IN AN ATTEMPT TO OUTWARDLY SHOW
HER SADNESS, FEAR, REGRET, AND IRE
FOR THOSE LOST IN AN UNTHINKABLE FIRE
CAUSED BY WHOM, NO-ONE CAN SAY
EXCEPT THOSE THAT WERE THERE THAT DAY
REAKING HAVOC ON LIVES AND LOVES
COWARDLY ATTACKING FROM ABOVE
I HANG MY HEAD ALONGSIDE HER
AND ONLY HOPE JUSTICE DOES DELIVER
A FATE BEFITTING SUCH HORRIFIC CRIMES
TO THEM THAT DID IT; A MILLION TIMES!
