Artist's Description

So I was digging through drawers of old photos looking for some of my mothers old favorites to scan and archive when I came across this. Just then it all made sense… This was me at roughly age 3 (late 1970’s) running around the yard photographing whatever. (In my mind, I’m sure the camera was empty.)

It is of no shock to me that photography and art would carry over from my mother to me. It just didn’t dawn on me that I started shooting so early.

I’d like to thank my mom for being my mentor for so very long and teaching me so much about photography and printing. It has made me a better person, even if she can’t be here to see now. May her soul rest in peace.

I believe the camera pictured was a Kodak Brownie “Starflash”.
