Artist's Description

One of the unique things I have noticed while living in Thailand is the “Ghost car Patrol”. Bangkok is well known for its traffic, so to combat this, at almost every major parking area, they have traffic control. Thai men with whistles. Apparently, whistles signify power, because they will tweet those darn things until their cheeks are blue. They don’t even actually talk to each other, they just toot and point. Late at night, there can be not a single car in sight, and they will still be standing in the middle of the road whistling and waving at the ghost cars that only they can see. Does this happen in other places?
