the lighter, lazier side of sundays

for the sake of argument let’s suppose that the world really is ending; volcanoes exploding regularly, oceans filling with oil, weather has become erratic (to the point that predicting it has become as reliable as predictions made in the 1190’s), and we have a black president in the states. all things considered, we had a good run: the world is in a state of peace, thanks to the continued evolution, not only of humanity, but of plants and animals: there are now more vibrant, colorful and intelligent species than when we started, and the only thing better than our knowledge of space is our knowledge of our own inner-workings. the daydream nature of our inheritance is something to be protected as well as missed, but the grey spectrum associated with the reality of our situation has unimpressively shone it’s dull light on our less than remarkable colony. all things considered: fuck it, let it burn.
