the greatest expectations lead to the deepest disappointments and shine the brightest lights on all of the flaws along the way to the end. the walls have been stripped bare, resembling the inside of cardboard boxes. scattering a mixture of ash and orange peels around the bed that holds up the tree outside as a superstitious attempt at holding it in place. without walls i’m out of place. i’m a salesman with nothing of value in his trunk, racing uphill trying to catch the sun before it burns out (before it sheds light on observable faults). the heirs to the glimmering world were all a creation of imagination run wild and raised on dreams, while i was once a dreamer myself i have since lost the ability to sleep and my mind is kept too busy by the white noise, vibrant colors and cutting edge lifestyle to even begin daydreaming. until night is all that is left i am without meaningful escape, therefore without reason.
