They are singing “Happy Chinese New Year” to you

Wondering who they are? They are some most popular food items for celebrating Chinese New Year!

From left to right:
Yau-Gok – a fried dumpling, it is believed to resemble ancient Chinese gold ingots

Turnip Cake – A dish made of shredded radish and rice flour, usually fried and cut into small squares

Jin-Dui – a fried dough made from glutinous rice flour, coated with sesame seeds on the outside and is crisp and chewy. Inside, a filling usually consisting of lotus paste.

Nin-Go – its pronunciation is a homophone for “a more prosperous year”

Mandarin Orange – most abundant fruit during Chinese New Year, and its name is a homophone of “fortune”
