While I'm drinking

Lately I’ve been thinking,
and it’s usually when I’m drinking,
that baby,
just maybe,
were no good for eachother.
You would say we misunderstood one another,
though-
we know thats not it.
Perhaps we didn’t start off right.
Love isn’t some you look for on a lust filled night,
as you dance like a whore,
you want nothing more,
to do with love.
But oh baby,
did you make my toes curl, mmmhmm,
as you whispered pretty thoughts of making me your girl.
I found myself thinking it’d be true,
that I could-
would,
give whats left of me to you.
I think it happened when I scratched your back.
Then you bit my neck.
Was it really all just about sex?
A night of beautiful lies,
I was seduced by hopeful thoughts.
Passionate stares and drunken promises,
the next morning we forgot.
In the heat of the night,
Pleasure crawls its way down our skin,
his liquor kisses start to taste of sin,
and I can hear my heart breaking within.
The sound echos,
as you shut the door. And lately I’ve been thinking,
ususally as I’m drinking-
baby,
I cant do this anymore.
