We Must Wear Our Crown of Thorns To Receive The Crown of Glory!

“This things I have spoken to you,
that in Me, you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
(John 16:33)

This life is a patchwork
of thorns
the people God has placed
are the thorns all around
but the thorns are not to be feared
for God has placed them,
as a diadem upon our heads
He has pressed them deep
to remind us we do not belong
to this world,
The Thorns Our Lord has fastened
and placed upon our heads
the sufferings for The Kingdom
the bruisings and the crushings our souls
endure
to open not our mouths,
to not cry out to the Injustices
we wear a Crown of Thorns
to imitate our Lord
it is a Patience for the world
A Kindness, and a Peace
we keep
It is a Love we show
though we may be beaten with stripes
and indignity
It is a Crown God has placed
to share in the Glory of Christ
as we share in His Sufferings
The Thorns remind that we are His.
not what is passing
The Thorns keep us in Prayer
The Thorns Testify to a Lord
whose Strength we wear
Placed on our brows
Squeezing this life from us
The blood we lose is pride
The cuts and the scrapings
over our skulls
are temporary
for a Glory Greater
will remove the Thorns
As we share in His Life
the Crown of Thorns
loses its Sting
When death is a Joy
we see in the distance
God places The Crown of Life
upon our heads,
The Thorns are The Path
To Glory,
a Path no one wants
The Path that is Narrow
The Path of Ridicule
and Scorn
The Path of Crucifixion
Where Jesus is Waiting
Where Jesus Waits on The Road

Artist's Description

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when the Glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for The Spirit of Glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified."
(1 Peter 4:12-16)
