Artist's Description

I’ve named my “Boss Hog” hummingbird Mortimer. He has taken possession of the little bird swing on my patio and keeps his tiny self firmly planted there. It’s his Command Central location from which he can keep a close eye on HIS nectar feeder and chase away any competitors for the goods. I thought Mortimer was a good name for him because he indulges in frequent catnaps, often falling asleep on the job. Here he is pictured, though, at full alert, ready to attack those pesky trespassers who have the gall to make pit stops at HIS feeder. He reminds me of a little fighter jet in this pose!
