Jane Tellam, who prefers to be called Jinx, is an Artist, Graphic Designer and Art Director living in Buxton in the Peak District, England with her husband and their pet rats and woodmice. They both help run High Peak Rat Rescue – a sanctuary for abandoned, ill treated and homeless rats. When she’s not working, doing art or busy with the rats she’s usually asleep, occasionally finding time for playing video games and watching movies.
Jinx worked with horses for many years in various positions including a horse riding instructor, yard manager, polo groom, dressage groom, showjumping groom, and in horse physiotherapy. To supplement the pitifully poor equestrian industry wages she did paintings to order on leather jackets & motorbike petrol tanks and sold hand drawn illustrations on t shirts, and pet portraits, as well as occasionally selling her art via galleries.
She changed careers after life-changing head and muscular skeletal injuries from a motorcycle accident in 1997 and studied art and design at Farnborough Tech College, then went on to study Fine Art at Huddersfield University then changed courses to a joint honors degree course in Environmental Illustration and Graphic Design at Sunderland University, graduating in 2002.
After living in Australia for a year she returned to the UK and worked in telesales then as a ghostwriter before opening the first Mindgoop store on Zazzle in 2011. www.zazzle.com/mindgoop
Other Mindgoop stores at Zazzle include Giraffeandvole for alternative lifestyle products www.zazzle.com/giraffeandvole and Climbergoop. for mountain and rock climbing products www.zazzle.com/mindgoop_climber

soooo slow

…and I’m not just talking about the Redbubble uploader – my brain is also on a go slow. As my twitter followers know, since I last blogged it has been a very upsetting and exhausting time for High Peak Rat Rescue – which I help run. Consequently I am 3 weeks behind with the art ranges I was working on, including the one I talked about in my last blog post. As my life does …

Feeling better

I’m back to doing art again (yippeee) as finally, after years and years of feeling utterly lousy and having endless blood tests the docs did a body chemistry test and discovered that I can’t actually process or store vitamin D from the sunlight/food and put me on Vitamin D therapy. recently...

I’ve mostly been too ill or in too much pain to sit up let alone create new artwork for a few months now, which is frustrating as my head is full of art that I can’t get into a physical form. / This also means I have been barely able to do the behind the scenes updating, organizing and marketing needed to run my stores on print-on-demand sites. So, with a few additions when new produ…
