Artist's Description

This is Injidup Point located along the Cape Clairault Road, Yallingup, Western Australia. I recorded this image about 2 years ago while staying in a friend’s place up in the forest overlooking the coast. The scientists tell us that Australia pretty much went its own evolutionary way – anyone with any capacity for observation will quickly arrive at that determination for themselves in a few days. I don’t mean the people; they’re not too far off the beaten path, sort of a Texas variety of British, if you can imagine that (grin); hope that’s not too offensive to my British friends (grin again) or my Texas pals (if I still have any). Kidding aside, I have to say, what an amazing place, this region of WA! It felt like some other planet, like some strange, yet benevolent aboriginal spirit was keeping watch the whole time I was there. I kept thinking that soon enough I’d wake up to the let-down of ceased dreaming; it never came, not while I was there still. I suspect that the creator of all things used a very different paintbrush here; the paint is very much alive – vibrant despite being so long in the tooth – a definite horse of a different color that will take you for a ride, if you’ve the heart for it (an open one) and an appetite for a feeling adventure. ©2009 Miles A Moody.
