Artist's Description

This piece is inspired by this vintage ad campaign for Lustre-Cream, a brand of shampoo made popular through the endorsement of Hollywood starlets during the ’40s through the 60s.

The whole notion of things made ‘just for girls’ is nothing new, but it’s a particularly pointed topic when discussing gender identity issues.

Transgender people need our help, especially the young and people of color. Half of the profits from the sale of this graphic will go to the Broadway Youth Center, a non-profit that provides resources and advocacy for LGBTQ youth.
