Taken from the Ardross Wolf. Considered a class I pictish stone, once within a wall at Stittenham, Ardross, in Ross and Cromarty.
The stone can now be veiwed in the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, in Castle Wynd, at Inverness.
Pictish rnditions of animals are always ornate, yet subtle in precisely giving proportion and shape to each animal.
The importance or prespectives held bu Picts towards the wold or other animals is not entirely known?
Such images are considerd to be later carvings?
And indeed are rare!
