my Spiritual Totem

It’s colourful, with a shimmering base of rainbow colours, and a grassy/mossy base, It looks like it has been there forever, there are branches that go off in surprising directions, many of these are decorated with childish coloured decorations, ribbons, scraps of cloth. There are words written on pages, like clothes hanging to dry on one branch. The words are in a childish scrawl done with wax crayons. Words like “school” and “why” and “flowers” and “prarie dogs” , “toys” and next to some of the words are little stick figures and square houses with red doors and curtained windows, and then the branches are carved into animals like hyenas and foxes and strange hybrid mythical creatures like griffons and unicorns and bandersnatches in pairs on the backs of rainbow dragons. In the fork of one branch is a nest of twigs with speckled blue eggs, some of which have already hatched into tiny rainbow dragons who play music with their snouts which are like wind instruments. Then there is a merry-go-round of carnival horses each of which has a spiraled golden rod coming out of it’s back and they are going around in a circle as well as moving up and down vertically and there are cotton-candy clouds over their heads, and higher up there is an electric train chugging through a tunnel, in and out of the pillar. And higher still there is a turret with a window, covered with a pointed red roof. On the window sill is a flower box with fuschia blossoms and these are cascading down over the whole pillar, like a fountain, and there is a white hand, holding a green watering can and watering the fuschia plant at the window. the owner of the hand remains unseen in the darkness of the turret. and on the red roof, there is a blue bird with it’s yellow beak open in song. And the melody cascades down over the pillar , entertwining with the fuschia blossoms, and the bandersnatches are heard laughing, one arm waving above their heads, while the hold tightly to their rainbow dragon steeds with their other hands. The unicorns stamp their golden hooves to rhythm this celebration, while the Griffons sing the song of eternity in a pleasant harmonious hum.
