Planed, The Surface, Sliced And Shaved

Sustained, I live and breathe my dream
And strive to keep the dogs restrained
I’ve gained the confidence of many years
The profit and loss of being right brained

Trained to work the puzzle alone
I’ve stumbled and staggered and straggled and strained
Then explained the mess I left behind
Blaming it all on what’s been ingrained

never framed I skipped the house breaking
Running quite free no civility retained
Some have complained of my wild raucous ways
And felt I’d left the family page stained

Planed, the surface, sliced and shaved
The layers exposed my emotions have drained
Some rained, some poured upon my head
Some swing me around as if I’d been craned
