You're Never With Me

My life is a secret
That few really know
My essence
may or may not be
at the center of me
I’m off kilter a few degrees
I know but I go
And I go and I go
Secrecy comes easy to me
Protecting me is my utmost concern
I’ve learned how to hide
With a myriad of disguises
I will be with you but you’re never with me
Sitting alone is a wonderous reprieve
From changing my faces to match my circumstance
Time and circumstance dictate my mood
